Corsair SF750 2024: why are there only two PCIe cables?

The 2024 SF750, CP-9020284, includes two PCIe 6+2-pin cables with one GPU plug each, plus a separate 16-pin GPU cable. The older CP-9020186 includes two PCIe cables with two plugs each. Count cable runs and connectors separately.
Start with the product number on the PSU
“SF750” describes more than one generation. Match the product number on the unit or box before consulting a cable list. The comparison below uses Corsair's published inventory for CP-9020284-NA and the SF750 CP-9020186 entry in its older Platinum manual. Other package revisions need their own check.

What if your GPU has three 8-pin inputs?
The new package's two 6+2-pin plugs do not provide three matching GPU connections by themselves. Treat that as an incomplete wiring plan, not proof that the entire PSU model can never support the card.
Our suggested next step is to collect the exact GPU installation instructions, PSU product number and required cable arrangement. Ask Corsair which additional cable is approved and whether enough appropriate PSU sockets remain after the motherboard connections. Check system capacity separately with the PSU calculator and the graphics-card maker's requirement.
Do not count the motherboard EPS leads as spare PCIe GPU leads merely because both are commonly called “8-pin”. Likewise, do not assume the included 16-pin cable is a substitute for three 8-pin GPU inputs. The destination connector and approved cable arrangement have to match the card.
The 2024 PSU side uses Type 5
Corsair identifies the 2024 SF series as Type-5 Micro-Fit at the PSU end. Its series table also shows that the bundled PCIe 6+2 cable counts differ across SF750, SF850 and SF1000, so a sibling model's unboxing is not the SF750 inventory. Corsair 2024 SF series specifications.
Before reusing an older or custom cable, look up the exact pairing in Corsair PSU cable compatibility chart. Keep the cable part number with that record. If the pairing is unconfirmed, use the supplied wiring or obtain manufacturer confirmation rather than testing whether an unidentified cable happens to fit.
A cable plan to keep with the build
- Record the PSU product number and photograph the included cable labels.
- List the motherboard power connections and the exact GPU inputs.
- For each destination, record the approved cable and the PSU socket it will use.
- Check the card's instructions for separate cable runs, then count runs and plugs independently.
- Confirm any missing cable before buying it. Recheck capacity and routing once the connection plan is complete.
