Privacy, Cookies & Advertising

This page explains what SpecsCalc collects, who else receives data when you visit, and how to opt out. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, so it is specific about which services are in use.
Who is responsible
SpecsCalc is operated by Weerasak as an independent individual project, based in Thailand. For any privacy question or data request, the contact address is turnomega@gmail.com.
What we collect directly
We do not ask you to create an account or submit calculator inputs to a calculation server. There are no accounts, no logins and no newsletter. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser: the calculation itself runs locally. Analytics and session-replay services described below can still process page visits, URLs and interactions; local calculation does not mean that visiting the site sends no data to third parties.
The only values kept on your own device are a dark-mode preference and, where a tool offers it, a saved parts list. Both live in your browser’s local storage, are readable only by this site, and are removed when you clear site data.
Analytics
We use two analytics services to understand which pages and tools are useful. Both set cookies or equivalent identifiers and collect usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device type and referring site.

Google Analytics user-level and event data is held for the retention period set in the property configuration; Google’s standard options are 2 or 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically. Microsoft Clarity data is retained according to Microsoft’s own published schedule. Neither service is used to build advertising profiles by us, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Advertising
If Google advertising, including AdSense, is enabled on this site, the following advertising practices apply. Advertising involves third parties, so this section matters more than the rest of the page.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may use cookies or similar technologies to measure and personalise them.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at myadcenter.google.com.
- You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com.

Where consent is legally required — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — advertising and analytics storage is set to denied by default until you make a choice, using Google’s consent signalling. You can change that choice at any time through the consent control on this site or by clearing your cookies.

SpecsCalc participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Links to Amazon carry our associate tag, and as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Clicking such a link sets a cookie on Amazon’s side that credits a subsequent purchase to this site; the purchase price is not affected. We never receive your name, address or order details — only an aggregate report of clicks and earnings. Recommendations are made before links are added; see the editorial standards.
Hosting and international transfers
The site is static and served through Cloudflare’s global network, which means the server closest to you delivers the page and processes the request. Cloudflare handles request logs and security filtering on our behalf. Because the analytics and advertising services above are operated by companies based in the United States, visiting this site involves transferring technical data internationally.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings; the calculators will continue to work.
- Use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above to exclude yourself from analytics entirely.
- Turn off ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com; you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
- Email turnomega@gmail.com to ask what data relates to you, or to request deletion. Because we hold no accounts, we may need the approximate date and page to locate anything at all.
Children
This site is aimed at people buying computer hardware and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through a service linked here, contact us and we will pass it to the relevant provider.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page changes with it and the substance of the change is described in this section. The last change added the advertising and consent sections and named the analytics providers individually.
