About SpecsCalc
SpecsCalc is an independent project that builds free, data-driven tools and guides for people choosing PC hardware. The goal is simple: cut through the confusion beginners face when buying parts, and give honest, useful answers instead of marketing or fluff.
What we do
We turn the questions people actually ask — what power supply do I need, will this CPU bottleneck my GPU, does this card fit my case, is my GPU good for 4K — into interactive calculators and clear, no-nonsense recommendations. Every build we suggest is balanced to avoid bottlenecks, and every calculator returns a real, verifiable answer rather than a made-up number.
Our principles
- Honest over flashy: our bottleneck tool reports balance bands, not fake single percentages, because that is how hardware is actually evaluated.
- Useful first: tools require your input and return a specific answer for your situation, not generic filler.
- Transparent: performance figures and dimensions are clearly labelled as estimates — see our methodology.
How we fund this
SpecsCalc is free to use. Some links to retailers are affiliate links — as an Amazon Associate we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. This never changes which parts we recommend; recommendations are made independently. See our privacy and affiliate disclosure.
